The Northern
California Intergroup consists of representatives from
individual groups in Northern California. Intergroup
representatives are volunteers who meet regularly to
exchange ideas, news, and organize Intergroup events.
One of the main priorities for Intergroup is to get the
word out about Nicotine Anonymous.
Intergroup
representatives also help get new meetings started and
support them by coming to share their experience at new
meetings. They help organize speaker exchanges between
groups to enhance the sense of fellowship and widen the
circle of shared experience, strength, and hope.
Northern
California Intergroup maintains two "Hotlines" that
anyone looking for a nearby meeting can call, one for
the South Bay (408-236-2196), and the other for Northern
California (415-995-1938). The Palo Alto and San Rafael
groups are currently responsible for answering these
calls and referring callers to meetings or meeting contacts.
When
donations from groups are sufficient (each meeting donates
about 40% of its surplus funds) Intergroup can organize
special events. The Northern California Intergroup
is currently trying to sponsor quarterly events around
the
bay area. If you or your group are
interested in hosting an Intergroup event, please contact
Intergroup! Click

Intergroups
also act as a liaison with World
Services. World Services conferences are hosted each
year by a different Intergroup in a different part of
the country. This
is the event where business, publication, and organizational
changes are made and where members
from around the world meet to strengthen the fellowship.
